Want to see something really scary? (FedEx content)

UPDATE: 19 days after being handed over to FedEx, and after traveling some 4,500 miles or more to make the 1,500 mile journey (or perhaps never traveling anywhere at all), the bass has arrived. Problem is, it has arrived back at the shop of the luthier who originally shipped it to me. In SoCal. No explanation from FedEx when they dropped it off about what happened or why they were delivering it to the sender rather than the recipient. The luthier checked the shipping label and confirmed that it is the original label and everything was correct and perfectly readable.

Meanwhile, the tracking info on the FedEx website still says the bass is sitting in Cisco, TX after meandering around the western U.S., while the folks at the FedEx call center say it is irretrievably lost and they've given up on trying to find it.

The luthier is going to send it out to me again tomorrow. Via UPS.
I think FedEx should either buy you a first-class round-trip ticket to pick up the bass in person, or rent a car for you to drive there and back. It should include a stay at the Andaz Hotel in Hollywood. (Formerly known as the Riot Hyatt, where Jim Morrison allegedly hung out the 10th floor window by his fingertips and a member of the Led Zep entourage rode a motorcycle around the hallways.)

Since it's irretrievably lost (according to their records), Fed Ex should pay you the cost of the 'lost' bass. :smug:

Hell, I can’t even get strings from JustStrings by USPS, UPS strings from Amazon, or timely responses from Thomatik-Enfield…And This is only about strings orders …and just in the last week. My local shop has given up even trying to stock anything I want.

This is what happened to me in Italy some time ago:
I had this pedal sent me from Venice. I live in Crema, just east of Milan.
This is the path it should have done to get to me:

instead it went from Venice to Udine, then Bologna, then Piacenza, then Turin, put on delivery in Settimo Torinese (100+ miles away from me), put on hold due to "wrong/incomplete delivery address", sent back to Piacenza, Bologna, Venezia to be sent back to the original sender, put on hold again for wrong/incomplete sender's address, then magically sent to Salerno, some 500 miles away.

So for those Italian Post c*nts the sender put not only the wrong recipient address, but also his own address was wrong! I got the scan of the shipping label and everything was fine, btw.
I checked with a person I know who worked for Poste back then, he told me that packages sent to Salerno are those who have been labelled as "abandoned" and are headed to be destroyed.

Fantastic, huh?

It was a Strymon Mobius. The sender was kind enough to fully refund me but I always felt sorry for him.

My typical experience with Fedex is a series of texts;
first "Your package is arriving early"
then "your package is arriving on time"
then "your package has been delayed". (that one usually comes the day after the scheduled delivery)
Not bad for a "Logistics" company.

Case in point;
No package delivered yesterday, no update.
OK, it's a holiday, I don't need it, but this is the best they can do....

(UPS: ALWAYS when they say - it's all geographically driven - 1-4 days)
