Really? I'm very pro-law enforcement, and I have over 31,000 posts. Seriously, there is a group of predominantly younger members here who are anti law-enforcement, but I think you'll find a larger number in the opposite camp overall.

Oh and BTW the head and vehicle count was reported on a local Fox affiliate so it's not like some flaming liberal was trying to skew the truth or anything. It was a fair and balanced report and my cop friends said that number would be real close to actual so you can deny all you want but it was grandstanding or stupidity and the local lawdogs are not stupid. The cops I know say it was a real cluster%@(& from the beginning and only got worse as time went by.

Oh and BTW, not long after this fiasco played out IN TOWN, an actual lab was discovered in the same county, OUT IN THE STICKS, and it only took 5 cars to handle it because of the number of people arrested. They hauled off the thugs, sealed the place with crime tape and called their cleanup contractor who showed up the next day and took care of the mess. Sorry, I don't have any accounting sheets to show actual cost of this one either, or sworn statements from my cop friends about what went on so it's pretty obvious I'm just telling more lies.

Beyond a vague idea of what toxicology means I'm clueless so why would I argue with you about it?

At least now I know this is more about you winning arguments than the idea the war on drugs was/is a money wasting fiasco.

Like many here, I'm very much pro LE, they take on the most dangerous, thankless job on this planet and when they are made the very public face of farces such as occurred here recently, it only makes their job harder. An example is the public perception here about the gross overreaction to the 2 soda bottle "lab" is that the cops are a bunch of clueless knobs who only know how to intimidate through a massive show of force.

But hey, let's not worry about any of that, let's split hairs over numbers and denigrate sources so spade can win the argument.

Had I known that was your goal to start with I could have let you have your victory way sooner. I just thought you were a rather thick headed clod who needed to not only be led to water, but must also be forced to drink because you were too slow on the uptake to realize what water was for. And all the time it was just about the sake of argument.

My apologies for thinking you were just another one of the brainless sheep who think we need more and larger prisons, that a couple hundred tax payer supported employees would be fine to turn out for a job that 3 could have handled because it was in the name of the war on drugs.

Instead, you turn out to be just another garden variety A-hole who just needs an excuse to argue.

Again, my apologies for being too thick to see you for what you actually are. I will do my best to not make the same mistake again.

Yet you also continue to argue. Didn't I provide financial figures while you heard about the 1.5 million bill? Keep trying. I don't think you're doing nearly as well as you like to think. :D

LOL. It may interest you to know that I drop by the office once a week or so and, so far, no one has flipped me off or stuck their tongue out at me. Most just want to waste precious company time by yakking with me.

It's been interesting over there lately. One of the things about the company is that many people who leave eventually come back (including me). Recently one of my favorite employees who left 8 years ago to join the energy industry returned, and I found out last week that an employee who left 16 years ago has also come back. Both were excellent employees who left for other opportunities, but knew how to keep bridges open. I and my predecessor always told employees, "If you see an opportunity out there that will take your career somewhere we can't, you'd be a fool not to take it." Many find that the grass isn't quite as green as their suitors represented, and eventually find their way home.

As far as cops go, yep, there are some bad ones out there. But the majority of them are service-minded, even though they have to deal with criminals on a daily basis. I'm glad they're willing to do that.

Moral legislation is something that will get me banned. All I will say is that I'm not a fan of "wars" that go on for decades, cost a ton of money, and are impossible to win or lose. Wait, so does that mean it is not a war by definition? Can't win. Can't lose. A "fight against drugs" maybe?

I don't really want to see bags of meth at 711 next to the taquitos, but I also don't the legal system clogged with folks who had a joint in their pocket. There are no right answers; tons of interesting opiniions though.
