Ever since I saw picture in first post I believe this is the right place to ask. But since I'm just considering ordering a custom one and before I make my (stupid?) move I'd love to hear some advices and suggestions from you guys, especially from tubby.twins who seems to have A LOT of experience with medium Gecko's.
Because I don't want to spoil this thread so much, I've created another to discuss my dream bass.

Finally got this sorted. Mahogany body, satin finish. Wenge/wenge neck and board. Hipshot bridge, 16,5 mm spacing. Gotoh tuners. Nordstrand Dual Coils (parallel wiring), custom placement. Bartolini 3-band preamp. Can I have a number?

I've got the model "CM88" double gig bag from Levy's. It works well with Gecko basses, though zipping both pockets shut is a bit of a challenge. (The upper horn is a bit longer than the gig bag would like, when used with two basses.) However, when I use this gig bag for one bass at a time, it seems to be just fine.

I haven't tried other gig bags yet, but I imagine that other models of Levy's single gig bags should work just fine. Model "CM19L" looks to be a good candidate.

I officially have one on the way.
I sold my beloved Gecko 5 string just over 5 years ago on Ebay.
Two years ago, when I was changing basses like socks, I contacted the guy that bought it and said IF he still has it and ever wants to sell it, let me know.
I never heard from him, till a month ago.
Out of the blue, he responded and said hes only picked it up 3-4 times. He would be happy to sell it back to me for the same price he paid.
I should have it Monday.:hyper::hyper:

Nice! I'd never give up my Gecko, unless it was my last resort. I modeled mine from my old Washburn XB800(w/Sycamore top). I put a nicer bridge, and tuners on it, and put some EMGDC35's in it. Sold it to a local music shop(for stupid love/money), only to never see it again. I missed it so bad, that I wanted something like it, but a 5'er. So, now I have it back! This bass has cured MOST of my G.A.S. for basses!

I got my Gecko 5 string back Monday, 5 years after selling it on Ebay.
Mahogany body(raw, no finish what so ever).
I took the strings off to clean the fingerboard and body.
First thing I will do is change pickups. Thats the thing I did not like about the bass.
I am going to try some Lakland/Hanson ChiSonics in soapbar casings. I want to try it passive first.

It's hard to beat a Wenge neck with an Ash body. You'll get a nice tightness in the bass and a full midrange with lots of detail that responds well to different playing techniques. Bubinga and has a similar response. Purpleheart is a bit warmer and darker, but still very tight.

There are some fine examples of Gecko necks using all three of these woods, which are currently available for sale in Warmoth's Showcase. Bubinga happens to be one of my favorites.

If you want to go punchier (i.e. less full in the midrange) you could try a harder body wood, such as Purpleheart, Wenge or Bubinga. Maple is also quite punchy. But these are all extremely heavy. Ash is probably going to give you the best balance (tonally and ergonomically) for these stiffer exotic wood necks. Alder is also nice.

Pickup choice and position is also important.
