Warmoth Owners Club!!

EEEEEEEeeeeee.. got tracking numbers today my 8 string neck is finally finished and it should be here Monday, they made a mistake with the first neck and put the wrong piece of ziricote on it so it took an extra few weeks, I cant wait to see the actual piece I chose because I cant remember what it looks like

3 coats of Watco in I think that'll do, I'll let it cure for a few days and hit it with some wax . Should be set up by the weekend .

it's going to be interesting to hear it without any controls , I hope it's not to crazy bright . I may have to had a resistor or cap or something to ground if so . It's a Nordstrand Big Split coil

If you feel compelled to do so, please post some audio of this one when it is completed! I love the direction it is going with the single Nordstrand straight to the output jack.

Thanks man ! did a quick test over a odd little drum track this morning , direct in from a Joe Meek VC1 , no effect just dry . so a little funny , I cut my finger building this yesterday , cutting the foam with a razor I sliced in to one of the important fingas :woot: so now it's more bloodwood than Rosewood :bassist: but check it out

Thanks man , I just realized I tracked that with the high pass on ( 100 hz), usually i do that for my p bass but forgot to turn it off . doh I'll have to track it again later on, anyway those are DAddario 40-95's

No problem. It will be interesting to hear it with the high pass off...more audio samples works for me. Plus, it will be fun to compare with your first recording. By the way, I appreciate that you recorded the signal dry.

Are those D'Addario strings nickel?

Thanks Fellas , yeah I wanted to get the dry sound out of the way , it's hard for me as I love to eq and compress and add grit and do things to it . What I get from that track is , clarity but yet with very nice overtones as well as just enough low end for a solo Bridge p/u I'd call it healthy . It also has a good level , I'd say "normal" not too hot or weak but right in there . I'm dig'in the Big Split . TT I should have gave you the model , they are EXL220BT super light Nickel wounds . Cheers

Can anyone here tell me how a 24 fret Warmoth neck looks/works on a Fender jazz body? Does the fretboard overhang get really close to the pickup? How accessible are those upper frets?
here you go.. a few pics of my new 24 fret 8 string neck on a warmoth dinky jazz body I'd alter the cutaway some but its a chamberd body so that's a no go.
in my opinion the last 3 frets wer a waste of $25 in my case and they block the truss rod access

so I might cut them off or possibly put the neck on a body with better upper fret access
