Has anyone ordered a body from the Showcase recently that only needed pickup routing? I'm wondering what their wait times are actually like. If the Mooncaster bodies had more options for pickup routes, I'd consider picking the black dyed flamed maple body right now.
Picked up an American Performer Precision neck in mid January off the TB classifieds. At about the same time I ordered this body from Warmoth. It finally came this week. Chambered ash body with roasted ash top. For a few days it didn’t have a pick guard. But…tort!
Fralin standard wound pickup. TI flats, CTS 250k pots and orange drop cap. Sounds wonderful!
Found the Fender neck plate in my late brothers parts drawer after he passed away about 25 years ago. Finally found a spot for it.

Can somebody confirm fit of the case on Dinky J ?
I planned to buy:
iSeries Waterproof P/J ATA Bass Guitar Case
Which is standard sized J / P bass case, since Dinky is smaller, would it rock much inside the case?
What cases do you use with Dinky J's?

I have that exact case for my Warmoth jazz. I also have a dinky jazz body. The dinky isn't smaller all around, it's mostly dinkier in the upper and lower bout. It shouldn't rock at all in the case -- at least not any more than any other jazz would. The bass also supported by the neck in that case, so when it's closed up, it's not really going to move at all. There won't be any difference in how the bass is held in place whether it's a dinky jazz or a regular jazz.
Right now, my bass is in the case. I just closed the case and shook it with the bass inside. There is no movement.

I just placed my order for a new Warmoth P neck for my white p bass. This one is going to have Wenge shaft wood with an ebony fretboard. I'm super excited!
I should probably ask this of the Warmoth Folk, but am looking for advice from someone who owns one...

Am aiming for a super light 5, and am already thinking roasted extra light swamp ash as my best shot for as light of a finished bass as possible. Any thoughts or input would sure be appreciated...
Oh, and sorry to ask two questions in one post, but is it possible to get Warmoth to make a body for you without the truss rod notch? - The Neck I will be using has the truss rod at the other end and I am not wanting a pick guard.

3lb 9oz short scale Z body from the showcase. Beautiful swamp ash top.
Over a great alder core. Kind of weird they don't include screws for the control cavity cover. Oh well!
I love this detail of the drop top. So much better than a Kiesel style bevel.
And this tiny bevel on the lower horn.
And a hefty scrap of swamp ash to test finishes on.
I was going to do a sort of translucent shell pink, but now I'm thinking something more in the natural color family that will bring out the grain more is going to be better.

How about the Dingwall cola? It's beautiful finish that highlights the grain on the few basses I've seen it used on.
My only issue with doing a finish is that I'm in a small apartment in LA, so whatever finish I decide on has to be low fume and not messy. I can work outside in the driveway, but the air quality is s*** and I don't want to get a bunch of particulates in the finish.

They only build necks that fit a Fender neck pocket.
Their short scale (30" and 32" scale) do not fit a Fender neck pocket. You can see the measurements for the neck heel and then measure the neck pocket on a MusicMan bass to see if it might just fit by coincidence, but it's unlikely.
