I have this one in the works - it is a solid koa dinky J body, I believe the weight is 4lb 10oz. Just finished it with 3 coats of Tru-oil followed by another three coats of their wax. Haven't used the wax before, but I highly recommend it.

I have a Warmoth birdseye/ebony J neck with the new slim taper profile on the way. I just returned an Allparts - had never used one before, but I was very disappointed with the quality. Frets looked pretty good, but their was chipout on the back of the tuner holes, and the neck was finished. Also, the neck heel did not match the Warmoth body - width was OK, but it was only a 20 fret neck, so it would have looked horrible.

Anyway, I've never used koa before, but I'm pretty excited. I will post some video clips when it is all done. Pickups are passive SD hot P/jazz wired with vol-vol.

Sweet

Wow, you had me at the headstock...details please!!!!

Ash body, flamed maple top, rosewood neck with ebony fretboard,Schaller 3D bridge and tuners,Bartolini soapbars with 3-band active/passive Bartolini electronic.

That looks really sweet. I haven't seen many of the Deluxe 5 necks in Wenge. Wow!

Actually as I said above it's rosewood,not wenge :)

The neck is oil-finished (à-la-Warwick),feels very good and it's pretty fast. The sound is extremely warm and round,it's very suited for rock and the like. :bassist:

Almost have mine finished up just waiting for the neck but it's a j bass with an alder body with black gloss finish. Wizard pickups, audere audio preamplifier, and all Hipshot hardware. The neck is bidseye maple with a Macassar ebony fingerboard. Can't wait to finally get it finished up!

The body is Swamp ash and the fretboard is Macassar ebony . Lollars are better known in the geetar world but they make a very fine p/u ;)
nice , I have for a while thought of putting one of thse together , I have a warmouth pj bass , ash body and rosewood neck , it is a great bass , I am going to put some new pic ups in it , either Sadowsky or Lindy Fralyn pj set , I have the Lindy's in my 74 P bass , I really like them , thanks for the pics

Fralins are excellent pups , don't think you could go wrong there . I narrowed it down between Fralin , Lollar and Nordstrand , it's a win win with any of them .

yea , probably going with the Lindy's , the Nordstrands are a thought as well , I really like his new VP5 , too much great stuff out there , the Warmouth basses are nice though and quite a cost saving and real good quality IMO ,
