Why isn't mahogany available as a neck wood? How come the Geckos can only be maple or wenge necks?

Gecko necks are pretty long. Mahogany is not stable enough for longer bass necks.
Maple and wenge are the normally stocked woods for neck shafts. I believe there are a handful of zebrawood blanks available if you're looking for something out of the ordinary.

Hey this is almost exactly my next project. I have some P2 quad coils laying around I thought I would use. What model pickups are those?
Carl Thompson uses flatsawn one piece mahogany necks for a lot of stuff, even 38" scales. He uses truss rods, and no other stiffening.
Is the mahogany you guys use generally on the lighter (colorwise) side?

Is it possible to request between Macassar and Jet Black Ebony on Warmoth fretboards? On the neck builder, only 'Ebony' can be selected, and there is no option for choosing a specific fingerboard wood with Ebony. I'm wanting a jet black board with no brown streaks in.
The neck and body builders are often missing features.
If you are interested in ordering, it's almost always better to just call in and ask your questions.

It's gonna be jazz deluxe5, alder body, seafoam green and P2 (big singles) routed haven't decide what preamp. Maple/maple neck, black blocks and binding.
Hoping there's no delay, coz this waiting...well, you know it feels...

Just got this put together this afternoon. Love the new slim taper neck profile. I know the steel in the necks may not sound vintage, but it makes the bass punchy, clear, and loud, and I dig it. Almost like having active electronics, but without the loss of warmth if that makes sense. Weighs around 8.8 lbs. I'll shoot a video tomorrow.
