Warmoth Owners Club!!

A question for you and any fellows with the Korina or Mohogany body with a wenge neck.

I am intrigued by the Idea of crossing a Jazz bass or PJ with a Warwick. I wonder what the tonal qualities of the above combinations are like.
If any if you guys could enlighten me with tales of your own experience, I would appreciate it.

I had a Warwick Thumb, and loved it for it's "warwickness", I sold it and built a Gecko 6 with wenge neck and korina body, and it rocks! I had EMGs in the Warwick, and hva Barts in the Gecko, and I think that is the main difference in tone. If you like a Warwick, I think you could do it with Warmoth parts, although a P-pickup, is not very Warwicky (?), a Jazz would be more like I think..

Here's my second build - nothing fancy this time, but I am really diggin this bass - kind of a stripped-down workhorse if you will.

Has a 72 P alder body, tele headstock, rosewood board, jumbo frets, Basslines hot P/jazz pickups. Very punchy and growly.

What top and body does that have? It's very understated yet really classy. I'm a real sucker for a natural top that isn't as crazy as highly figured maple.

Swamp ash body and one pretty wild somewhat spalted ash top!

There were apparently three or four jazz bodies done by Warmoth with the tops from the same spalted plank of wood.

Here's one still there, the best one:

I just finished building mine, a G 5.. the color is a bit off in the pictures, It's a Honey Burst. Swamp Ash with Quilt top. Barts, classic EB 5 and a classic Jazz deluxe 5 with the 3 band EQ plus the three way mid switch. The neck is rock maple with rosewood, bound and blocked in pearl, All the hardware came from Warmoth. The Bass has a solid, sweet tone with just the right amount of swamp ash pop, I got the neck and body from the showcase, the body weighs in at 4 pounds.

I have a new house and some renovations to worry about before I finish up, but a Warmoth body is on its way, and hopefully by the end of the year I'll have scrounged up enough components to finish it and earn a spot 'round here.
