Double Bass Warped fingerboard - Palatino VE-500

I recently purchased this electric upright and fell in love playing it, except 3rd and some of 4th position are unplayable on all strings, regardless of where I set the action on the adjustable bridge. I looked and found the fingerboard scoops up significantly after the joint on the neck. I have already contacted the seller and Palatino but am wondering if there's any repairs I can do myself? Is it possible to just bend the ebony back into place over time?

The proper method is to use a hand plane and years of hard-earned experience to remove wood from the fingerboard until the board is true.

Did you buy the bass new? If so, this should be covered under warranty. If that is the case, insist that your bass be sent to a REPUTABLE VIOLIN SHOP or, better still, a professional BASS LUTHIER.
