Warrior Club Part 2

So I played my walnut Warrior this morning and it sounded great.
Then I pulled out my quilt maple Warrior (with flats) and it also sounded great. A few minutes later I pulled out my walnut Warrior again, plugged it up and no output. :spam:

And it wouldn’t work in passive mode either so I’m thinking output jack!:banghead:

So, I removed the rear access cover and inspected the output jack and
one of the pins to the Neutrik jack backed out of the housing. This apparently happened unplugging the cord.
You might want to be aware that this can happen. My first thought is maybe I could reinstall it so I unscrewed the jack and quickly found out that the ground wires connected to the jack were too short to allow removing the jack. So, knowing nothing about the Neutrik jacks, I had to desolder the ground wires so I could get a good look at the rear of the Neutrik jack. It turns out that I probably could reinsert the pin and that corrected the problem without removing the jack but I just couldn’t get a good look at the rear of the jack. Of course then I had to connect all of the bare ground wires together and add a longer insulated ground wire to the bare ground wires so it would be easier to replace the jack with a new one (in the future).
I ordered two of the Neutrik brand jacks because I’m not confident that the pin will stay seated in the jack housing.
Anyone else had this issue with a Neutrik jack?

I found a few cases on the I-Net of players stating that Monster cable male jack’s damaged (or caused one of the pins to come out) of their Neutrik output jack. They seem to believe it’s due to the Monster cable male plugs being slightly oversized (than standard).
At any rate, even though the ejected pin in my Neutrik output jack seem to latch into place when I reinserted it, I still replaced the Neutrik jack with a new one.

Here's the top going on my new custom...curly mango!

Beautiful top!
What are the complete specs?
Super-light alder, possible flame back, rosewood with j neck specs, 2 Trickfish dual coils, 3 band pre. I know they come wired with a Bart preamp, but I hope I can convince them to consider taking a step off the Bartolini train for a moment and put in a Trickfish pre.

Coil switching for each pickup...Gabe said less than 90 days. Seems light-speed, but hey...I'll take that!

Nice Spec’s! Both of my Warriors have alder bodies and I love the tone.
I’m sure that they’ll do the Trickfish preamp. They installed a Pope for a friends new build a while back.
Also, on the 90 day build timeline, they built both of my new builds in 3 months so it’s definitely do able.

I've had Chromes on my Isabella 5 for a year or so... and I dig them. I've TI flats on another bass and I honestly can not tell much of a diference between the two strings.
I totally get that. I have TI flats on my Gecko 5 and EB Cobalt flats on my Warriors and Fender P-bass and sound wise they’re similar. I notice more of a difference in the tension. TI’s are much looser in tension. I actuall prefer the tension of the Cobalts over the TI’s. The TI’s have been smoother midrange too.

Well, I installed the new Neutrik output jack and 2 weeks later it happened again. This time I knew what to do and I was able to slide the pin back into the housing slot and it locked in. Based on what I've read on the internet I'd say that my off-brand instrument cables are the problem. I purchased some new ones from Musicians Friend, and I guess that the male 1/4" jacks that they use are slightly over sized.
I never had this issue with my old cables.
You guys definitely need to be aware of this.

How’s your new build progressing Matt? Any new pics to share?
