The sellers feedback and description of the bass don't make me think he is trying to rip anyone off either. Neither of my Warwicks have that type of control cavity cover but that doesn't mean it's not a great bass. The serial number checks out correct:

Serial No.:
J-066844-99
Article Code:
1216160400GZFMAOWW L
produced:
14/11/2001

Emeraude Green Oil finish
Flamed Maple A body
Ovangkol neck
Gold hardware
Left-hand

I think it's a great bass too. I'm a wenge fan, wouldn't buy another warwick without a wenge neck. Just wondering IF it's not original, WHY it's not original. Also, don't know much about the price of LX 6 strings. Is $1095 a good re-sale price for this, or are LXs like other warwicks and it can be had for substantially less? I just sold my $3500 streamer jazzman for a whopping $1100 after trying for a year to get $1200. :/

I`d say it`s not original.
I`ve never seen a 1999 Warwick with that cavity cover.

Older ones used to have 5 screws to hold the cavity cover, but screws weren`t aligned that way.

Here`s a shot from a 89 Streamer

Why should someone replace the original one?
They tend to break from time to time (I`ve seen WW without cavity covers before) and making one is probably the easiest solution.

This is the back of my old 99 LX 5.

I'd almost definitely say that's not an original cover, but I doubt the reasons are dubious, probably just came off and was misplaced or maybe the clips broke.

As far as the price that's about right I should say. I sold my LX 5 for $1100 last year, and while I'd say the left handed 6 string version might draw a little more scratch for being harder to come by, it wouldn't be much more.
