Sadowsky MetroExpress 21-Fret Vintage J/J Bass, Maple Fingerboard, 4-String So it looks like you can now order the cheaper ones look to be at a very interesting price point
That is a good looking bass. The tuners look like they are quality. The irony is that now that Sadowsky is making very affordable basses, I really do not need another Jazz because my Fender and Carvin are awesome. I would, however, really love to have a Roger Sadowsky Design Verdine White Signature five string.
I need/ want a jazz and am considering the cheaper Sadowsky or the cheaper Sandbergs, seems that good things are coming out of Germany at the moment
If I need a bass for non standard tuning, this may be what I get. I wonder if the fretless is inclined. If so, a 5 string is probably happening ( I hope there are other color choices besides black).
I bought the Sadowsky Metro Express PJ Bass 4 string in white. It's not a bad bass, but the preamp is so noisy. Even in passive mode, the pickups are noisy. Mine is going back to the Nashville (Warick Sadowsky HQ) to hopefully get this fixed or get a replacement. I have played basses that are a couple hundred bucks that were less nosiey then this one. From what I'm reading and seeing on-line this is a common theme with the basses. I wish they would offer the VTC control for a little more money, or simply a passive bass. the nosie assoaciated with this bass is very frustrating. Didn't matter what amp I used either, from Mesa, Ampeg, EBS, Aguilar, Markbass.....this thing is noisey.
Interesting I was in Sam ash 34th st Manhattan store last week and they didn’t have any yet, hopefully this is teething problems as one expects more from Sadowsky
