Warwick Short Scale String Replacement

I have a Warwick 4 string, short scale 30 inch on the way. Anyone here put new strings on this bass and what length would it require? I've heard that some 30 inch short scales require medium length strings. Some recommends please, although I am leaning towards GHS Pressure Flats. Thanks for any help, no better place to get it!

Well look at your bass. Does it have a lot of length behind the bridge saddle? Does it go through the body? If yes to either, then you might need a longer scale string. If not, then you're good.

I absolutely love the Pressurewound strings. However, and this is a big one, they only have really light gauges in short scale. I find that I need at least a 104 or so to get a really good E in 30" scale, maybe 100 if I'm going flats. As such I can't recommend the Pressurewound. I recommend La Bella 760FL-S.

You need the installed "Ball - to - Nut" distance to know what strings to get. For Flats - the LaBellas are great. For Rounds - the DR Sunbeams are tops, unless you want a super zingy sound, then just use the very reliable and low cost D'Addario XLs.

For the record (resurrecting thread here, but oh well) I can fit full scale DR Black Beauties on mine which is the 30.75" scale. The fact they thread all the way to the end of the bridge means they can use bigger than a 30" scale. the 32" med scale corvettes would probably also be fine with full scale strings.
