Was there ever a Tighter band than...

I know no-one will like this or even listen to it, but a modern progressive metal band called Periphery is undoubtedly the tightest band ever. No-one will ever come close to them.

That is their soundcheck. The complexity of the song, and the fact that they have three guitar players, all playing different things, with interlocking rhythms, and a bass player who matches them...well, I defy you to find anything tighter ;)

I liked it, and listened to it.

i'd have to go with Living Colour.

saw them live opening for Anthrax two years ago.

i couldn't move. the musicianship, lock-step timing and performance was incredible.

i've yet to see them live yet but have become a huge fan of the Kami Band these past two months.

They're the band that backs up Babymetal (think Britney pop melodies over Slipknot/Static X metal).

Anything off Discipline. Actually, just about anything involving Fripp.

Frank Zappa's bands in the early 1980's with Vinnie Colaiuta and Terry Bozzio were tight & well rehearsed.
As much as I favor the George Duke era bands, The Best Band You Never Heard In Your Life is unbelievably tight and well-rehearsed. Not sure who is drumming on that one. I once read FZ say about Bozzio, "he tends to frenzy out at times." But freakin' VC is an absolute beast. Jeff Beck should bring him back.
