Here is my Washburn X-4000...not sure if this was a failed collaboration with Curbow, or what, but I have never seen another one. I had it for sale here on TB for a while, but I pulled it and decided to keep it after playing it at a gig recently..the tone is yummy and the neck is just de-lish. Gimme a numeral why dont ya.

Wow, never seen one of those before. Shortly after the Taurus series was announced, there were some prototypes with different pickup configurations and so on for sale on Ebay. I wonder if yours is a prototype for a model that never happened.

If thai is in fact is a prototype, be glad no one picked it up while it was on the classifieds. That's something to hold on too. Your never going to find a bass with a tone like tat no matter what you do.

To those of you that have an RB-2002 or 2502, I'm interested in knowing if you think that the brass plate in the headstock really helps with dead spots or tone or whatever.

The neck is very slim, and very comfortable...kinda Ibanez-ish. I do think it is a prototype...it has to be. I bought it used of Ebay over 10 years ago, so I think it pre-dates the Taurus even. I emailed Washburn at the time that I bought it to find out info on it, and they had no record of an X-4000....however, someone did post on my for sale thread that they had owned one too many years ago, so it may not be a one-off...or it could be his old bass... LOL

Here's my XS-2 Axxess. I'd love to say I hate it because it's ugly lol, but it just plays so nicely! I love the spacing between the strings and the body. So much room there, yet the action is right on the fretboard! This thing was definitely designed to be PLAYED.

I've got a CB14 with the cocobolo top, these are just great basses, very under-rated. Neck is slimmer than an SR (and I've had several to compare) plays like a dream, sound to die for. Love the exotic wood top on this. The ebony fingerboard is a nice touch, and the pickups are hot.

Got it for 250 dollars as a "2nd", there are a couple of hairline cracks in the cocobolo top that you have to really look up close to notice, I'm fussy and I don't really notice them. Best bass I ever picked up for that money. I did the usual going over of it, and it's just a dream to play.

I'd love to join the club and get a number.

I can't recall the model number on mine, but I remember I HAD to have a 5 string. Bought one at a small shop in NC in 1990 and played it a year before I traded it for a Yamaha keyboard. It was a nice bass.
