Washburn Club!

I've got two Washburns at this time - an XB600 in red/flame, and an MB-8. I'll grab pics when I can, but the XB600 looks a lot like that XB-500 up there.

I have had an XS-1 (not that great a bass :( ) and an XB-900 in the past as well, and - almost forgot - one of those headless Steinberger-looking ones.

I've got a set of Circle-K strings coming for the XB-600. :cool:

OK...I Got the XB900 on Monday. Nice bass! All natural, wiegs about 7.5lbs.......Yea, I like that! (Did I mention I paid $375.00. probably could have got it for less....).The strings that came on it were a little heavy for my tastes and style and it needed some truss rod and saddle tweeking. But after putting on a used set of DR Sunbeams I had tucked away ....I dug in... Took a while to get used to the wider neck cause I'm a J-Basser most of the time, but once I got used to it ......Man, new sonic possiblities! Took it to rehursal last night and th Boys dug it, particuarly the way the SD Basslines cut throught the mix. Never has an Musicman style bass before and I'm guessing this gives me a little idea as to how that might feel. I'm using it with a Genz Benz 9.0 and 210 Uber and Avatar Delta 112 Cabinet,900 watts @ 4ohms. I don't know if I'll use it all the time cause I still dig the Jazz on some tunes, but time will tell. But I think it's the beginning of a beautiful friendship..........I promise to get some pics up soon.

@walkin, sounds like you are really diggin the xb900. the first time i brought by xb500 to rehearsal, my guitard player didnt even know what hit him, he was used to having to play a little lower to allow my p-bass to cut through, but my XB just blasts through, at the studio that day i was playing through a hartke 500 and an ampeg810 at 4ohms, it was BOOMING. also, as you have found out, it dosent work for everything, so my P will always be there too. cant wait to see some of thos pics

Glad to have a number, but I don't have any new pm's...

Here's my MB-8. As you can see, I got it with a Peavey HSC which fits it pretty well.

Number please! I've been playing a Washburn Taurus T-25 (five-string) since last January and very pleased with it. There's been a little intermittent static from the pickups lately, probably needs the shielding checked, otherwise she's fantastic. I love hitting that final note on a song in practice and the sustain just keeps going and going long after the guitars are silent. I'll post a pic as soon as I can get the camera.

Here I have an Idol Bass (WB66) that I bought in 2008. I bought it after an iatus of 24 years on bass, since then I play regularly but not in a band yet. I like it very much the Mohagany body is very beautiful and the neck is wonderfull. That was my first modern bass as I played with my precious Gibson EB-4L (1974) and an short neck Hofner 182 Professionnal (1965). The tone is very low even with the treble at the floor and it's not for all kind of music, but it's because I used Ken Smith halfround string on it, that's the sound I want a get with that gear.

You got a great bass! Now, you may want to get a 4 string version (T-24) :bassist: You can see a photo of mine on the previous page...

Here's my 1993 MB2 hanging on my wall... only pic I have of it handy. My father bought it for me for my 14th birthday. I'm the one and only owner, and it was my one and only axe until a couple years ago. It's pretty much retired as of now as I'm favoring Fenders these days. I even have the OHSC for it.

I've got a black rb2002 with a nordstrand mm4.3 pickup and aguilar obp-3 preamp. I removed the pick guard and strung it up with light guage fender flats. Sounds great, but I need to redo some of the wiring. It is my one and only bass but I love it. I can snap some picks if anyone is interested.

You know I did!
It was my first real bass. The one I started learning on. The one I played my first gig with. I played it in my high school's Jazz band, a couple metal bands, and everything in between. I remember where every scratch, ding, and chip came from.
I have a very sentimental attachment to this bass, aside from playing it exclusively for 14 or so years. My father, who bought it and gave it to me as a gift, passed only a couple months later. There's no way it's ever going anywhere, not for any price.
I'll try to get some better pics up. The finish is unique... kind of a speckled blue color. You don't see many Mercury Series guitars or basses anyway, but I've never seen another with this finish.
