wattage/ohms question

search-button-for-dummies.jpg

Though this book won't help a John Thomas too lazy to read the search results.

Thought I'd chime in...hope I'm not too late to the troll party

oh I'm just kidding....

IMHO, no matter what size driver you get, I would advise you get the best sounding highest performing cab you can possibly afford—and buy used. A great second cab can serve as the basis for a more modular, lighter, and more capable rig. YMMV, IMHO, USW.

you would need an 8 ohm cabinet, 2 8 ohm cabinets take a 4 ohm charge from your amp. but adding a 15 inch wouldn't increase you low end as much (in all probability) as getting a REALLY good 2 times twelve and simply selling you 4 by ten. It would be lighter and nicer (: specifically Barefaced Bass makes som cooool cabinets xD

so.."im going to pop in on the op's thread to tell him im tired of reading threads like his and he should "search" an older thread thats probably 50 pages long"? LMMFAO! "instead, of answering his question in 1 post, ill type 3 or 4 "tit for tat" posts @ him instead"? speaker sizes aside, MY question is WHERE'S THE FUNKIN LOGIC PEOPLE!? LMAO!

Well i did read the stickies and I've seen the mixing driver sizes thread. I still didn't understand the ohms watts thing so I asked a very specific question and hoped for a specific answer.

As for the 4x10 + 1x15 thing - well after reading some of the driver thread it seems that it's a preference thing - I've tried that configuration before and thought it sounded great to my ears - if you'd advise against it then feel free to tell me what you think. That thread is like 3000+ posts and I haven't had the time to read the whole thing - just enough to know its moot.

So either answer my question or jog the f**k on - no need to be trolls about it. Cheers.

So we just get through fifty pages discussing this same issue for the fiftieth time this year but it's too inconvenient for you to read through any of it. Well, it's too inconvenient for me to wade through that crap fest again so soon, so yes, I'll jog the f**k on. Cheers.
