Way Huge Green Rhino

just found this in my search for a new overdrive. i've got a Darkglass B7K currently. i'm looking for something with a different flavor. on paper, the Rhino seemed nice, but it has quite a bit of similarity to the B7K. the Loin does too, but it has a fuller, fatter tone the B7K doesn't get with any amount of EQ. the first Loin clip in the demo is a tone i can't do with the B7K, and the fat sound at 4:35 is also one that is tough for me to get currently.

my other thought is the Empress Multi. Luckily, the local Mesa shop has all these pedals available for a demo :D

thanks for the very useful demo.

edit - i also have a MXR Blowtorch, which isn't quite doing what i want. it can sorta get there, but it is hard to make it dark/warm.

I've also got a Green Rhino I use for bass (Sadowsky MV5) and it does the tube overdrive sound brilliantly for bass. Just switch it on and adjust the low boost until your bottom end matches the volume you had on bypass. You get the tubescreamer sound without loosing depth. It doesn't clean up altogether on low gain, it's still got a subtle tube overdrive character on minimum drive which I love.
