Way Huge Green Rhino

It is indeed a nice sounding pedal but I'm just a little bummed it's a tone i've heard before... I'm waiting for them to re-release the Red LLama or some of there weird pedals like the Purple Platapus or whatever it's called
And yeah, GC has them in stock now. We've been getting a LOT of NAMM pedals in already...Which I'm very happy to see the GC stores are actually getting new gear quicker.. Instead of telling customers "Nope..that did not come here yet...yeah it's been 3 months.."
AMEN! We have these in my store too, and it's real useful. I dig that 100hz boost, gives that extra oomph that we tend to lose without a blend knob.
Personally, I find it's tough to decide between the Big Muff & the Swollen Pickle...hard to decide which I like more sometimes

What strings do you use on the P-bass?
They sound great.
The Green Rhino reminded me of the tone of Jean-Jacques Burnel from the Stranglers.
Both pedals sound fantastic. I love my Way Huge Swollen Pickle too; that a fantastic fuzz.

IMO, the Pork Loin can get all the sounds of the Green Rhino as well as the 'balls to the wall' overdrive. Just my $0.02
Do others who have tried both pedals agree with this statement? I REALLY loved the Pork Loin I had once and plan to buy another, but these clips of the Rhino have me thinking.....

The PL was on a dunlop rack and I couldnt mess with the internal trims but I was still impressed with the soft OD I could get out of it, whilst the rhino sounded more aggressive and clanky with low end for days.
As i'm a set-and-forget kinda guy, I thought I'd just get both. I have a feeling that they will both work for both bands im in, whilst something like the Fuzzrocious Dark Driving is just too Doomy for my pop-rock band.

I got a Green Rhino Yesterday and only spent an hour with it but so far I am very impressed by what I heard. I have 10 or so distortion pedals and have gone through many more than that. Green Rhino is very unique sounding to my ears. The distortion has a very musical kind of metal grind that stays musical without getting aggressive.
I stated before on this thread that it reminded me of the Jean-Jacques Burnel (Stranglers) tone and uisng the pedal confirms that.
A must have pedal in my opinion, it will stay on my rack for a very long time.

Can anyone comment on how the Green Rhino sounds compared to OD side of a Visual Sound Jekyll and Hyde?
I use the J&H on a few songs, but some days I am not digging it too much for bass, though I love it for guitar. Plus it takes up a lot of space on the pedal board.

i prefer the "color" of Rhino sound. It sounds warmer, imho.
A question for the owners... in the video, the Rhino looks like more agressive, also at minimum drive setting.
Can you confirm this impression?

I tried the Rhino @ GC today. 3EQ SR4 set to flat>Rhino>Markbass with filters off and EQ set to conservative levels.
Good pedal for bass. It doesn't drop the low end but only when the 100Hz is dimed. I found the contour knob a tad useless. However, there is LOTS of gain on this baby. The only thing that stopped me from pulling the trigger is that I felt that there wasn't much variety in the different drive settings and the interaction between the knobs did not yield dramatically different results. I am kinda picky about my overdrive though so YMMV.

yes, the ability to go lighter on the drive is the ONLY thing keeping me from pulling the trigger on this.
...but i still might get it anyway.
Great demo, I've been searching for a good Od.... After this demo I think I'll get a Green Rhino, sounds really good with the drive under 12 o' clock, better than the Pork Loin to my ears, like it has a bit more grit to it.
