I haven’t seen any comments on the new Wayne Jones Audio equipment. I am tracking he used to do passive cabs and then he closed the shop, but he came back about a year ago with a new lighter powered cab and preamp system. it hasn’t being mentioned here in TB, so I decided to start the new topic. I just got a new WJ 2x10 and WJ preamp. At first I wasn’t unsure if I wanted to get it, do to the price but, talking with the man himself Mr. Wayne Jones I decided to go for it. First let me say that Wayne is one of the nicest people I have ever talk with, and I can also say he has an awesome costumer service. In one note; Even though he is from Australia the cabs are being ship from Kentucky.
Thorough my 15 years of playing the bass, I had the opportunity to own some of the most awesome cabs in the market, from Audiokinesis TC112, ACME low B 112, Bergantino, Greenboy F112, Aguilar, markbass, GK and many more. I love them all however, each cab had their own flavor. One day I saw an article about the Wayne Jones Audio cabs at the Bass player magazine that cached my attention. I also saw some videos on YouTube videos about the WJ cab and preamp, and how incredible is the rig. Well in all say and done I sold my Bergantino B/Amp and HDN210 in order to fund the WJ Rig.
First let me say when I got the Cab and the preamp, the equipment were extremely well and professionally packed like a high end company would. The cab it self is extremely well build with great quality materials. It was expected for this high end rig. Once I plug in the bass for the first time a got a smile from ear to ear. WoW I just couldn't believed the incredible sound it came out of this cab. It's so incredibly beautiful. I didn't even have to touch the EQ on the preamp it set so perfectly. It’s just unbelievable, the sound is true crystal clean, punchy, the tweeter is super quiet I can’t hear any Sizzle sound as to the other cabs. I can actually hear every single note of my bass, and they all cut perfectly through the mix. If you ever get a chance to hear this set up, I know it will bring the same smile that I got when I first heard it. By far the best cab rig I have ever heard and owned. There is no question why WJ audio team up with Fodera. The best of both worlds.
