I feel comfortable saying that it keeps up with at least a quality 212. Maybe depends on your preferred voicing, but for me, it can hang with a 212 for sure.
Cool. All I needed to know. Especially as Otto has already said he prefers this to even the Fearless F112 he owned.

Every cab that I had own sounded great, however what I do like more about the WJA set up is that each string matches the EQ. (There's a Wayne's video in YouTube that explains it), and with that said, every single note I play on my bass cuts perfectly and clean, specially in the low end were for most cases it gets thick and it easily get lost, but with the WJA my B String now easily cut thought the mix. Do I miss the other gear? of course but sadly I can only have one set up. You need to try his gear.

this stuff is nuts.. Been gigging the 210 and a pair of 110's. Pretty unbelievable performance and speed. Nothing is quicker, that I've ever heard, as far as bass amps go.
Also, the slap tone is completely out of control. Massively huge and quick, and VERY forward, but zero harshness whatsoever. Its thoroughly addictive. My 5 string Skjold is a slap monster, and I've never had a more enjoyable slap tone. Now all I need is some gigs where I can slap without getting fired. haha

Looks like very cool stuff. Always drooled over them when I first read about the originals.
For the price there are some seriously nice prosound/recording pieces that would directly compete with them.

I'm looking for an amp / speaker solution that will be conducive to use with synth (keyboard) bass as well as my electric bass.
I own and use a Glockenklang Blue Soul and a Jules Amp Monique / M900 setup with a Bergantino AE410 and I've played through countless backline rigs but I've never quite liked the sound of my synths through a bass speaker because I find that it attenuates the highs in a way that some of he synths character is lost.
Those that have experience with the Wayne Jones powered speakers: Do you find them more 'full range / PA like' than traditional bass speakers and do you think that they would be any better to use for synth bass than alternatives?

I use my pair of WJ110's (one powered, one passive) as a bass rig, as a drum monitor, and as a vocal monitor, and they've been great in every situation. I would anticipate that they would do well for keys/synths, as well. That being said, I used to use my Bergantino IP cabs for keys/synths, and they were excellent, as well. Of course, the IP cabs were DSP-EQ'd for flat frequency response, and were not voiced, as the AE410 is (to an extent).

He used to use a Fender Silver Face & Lin 6 now he can get all he needs & more from the WJ1x10 set up & it’s lighter & in stereo. Amongst others, through Gerey Johnson’s posts on Facebook I have Isaiah Sharkey from John Mayer & D’Angelo waiting to try them & also Nick Collionne. Atlanta Backline also hire them to keyboard players."
Not surprising, i could see them working incredibly well for synth and other keyboard sounds. PS, man... Isaiah Sharkey, you guys hip to that dude? Check him out, he's super bad.

I have both the 1x10 Active and 1x10 Passive. I run both a Minimoog and Taurus 3 through them (in addition to electric basses or double bass with Realist & DPA). Just depends on the gig. I use a Rane line mixer into Avalon 737 into the Wayne Jones cabs. More like high end studio monitors. GREAT speakers. Pricey, but you get what you pay for. I'm done with playing through garbage bass amps - which is most everything on the market.
I have the WJ powered 2x10. Really impressive sound, but I found myself struggling with what I perceived as a 'low mid heavy' signature that was a bit too much for me over time. That, combined with its very high crossover point kept me searching for my ideal tone. Wayne includes a Mid and a High L- pad, suggesting they be set (as a starting point) at 3Pm and noon respectively.
EDIT:IGNORE****I finally found that reversing those settings was key for me, along with an additional 2db cut centered at 220hz**** WRONG WRONG WRONG >>> Wayne's settings are correct (surprise, surprise). Although cutting the mid pad back to 1pm is a bit meatier tone.
I also lift everything above 2.5k a touch as a live starting point too, which I've done for literally every cab/stack I've ever owned. Just my preference there.
Keeping in mind the fact that I have been EQ'ing cabs with typically much lower cross-over points, there was some learning to be done for me at least, and perhaps things will change further with time. I can say however, that with these settings I get all the whallop and punch this cab is noted for plus a nice crisp upper mid (perhaps exaggerated) that I am more used to, while maintaining a really nice body to the mid register.
All that paper just has an unbelievable character/feel to it without going full-on 'old school' with no tweet. The slap tone is 2DI4 too, with TONS of speed and headroom. The resulting sound is insanely quick, full, focused and controlled. Starts and Stops on a dime. Ceramic drivers with transients like making popcorn. Quite a unique landing point indeed.

I just ordered the Wayne Jones preamp, il be using it primarily as a di/headphone amp live (I use Iems)... looking forward to hearing my basses through WJ gear- Will probably order a powered 2/10 cab sometime this year as well. Very excited.. Wayne is a super guy to do business with, highly recommended btw!
The WJ preamp arrived- currently using it as a standalone di/headphone amp, I use Iem's...wow! It's packed w/many features-I'm very pleased w/my tone, my basses seem "tighter" and much more focused than before- super clean & pristine sounding. Very impressed!
I got the single channel preamp, it really is all I need.
I'm loving it! WJ makes top notch gear for sure
