We did it.

My girlfriend and I have been going out for almost 6 years now, and I still haven't chased her off. So, as of Nov 1, 2007, at 4pm, we are now husband and wife! :hyper:

We just got back from our honeymoon a couple days ago, did a 5-day cruise to Cozumel and Progreso, Mexico. Had a blast, except when she was seasick two nights (really rough seas!). So it looks like my GAS has been cured, for now...:eyebrow:

Congrats, but I do have to ask:

The way you wrote this you makes it sound as if you just got married without being engaged for very long, so how long did your engagement actually last?

We actually got engaged last Christmas. The ceremony was at the JP's office about two blocks from our house. We had gotten the license the week before, but wanted a memorable date- not Halloween, that was out, and Nov 2nd just didn't have the panache that the 1st had, so the 1st it was. Yes, I have set alarms in my Outlook at work and my Sunbird at home to make certain I don't forget- one thing you rarely hear from men is "The last time I forgot our anniversary..." :D I think it has something to do with the survivability of that phrase not being very good...

Anyway, I have a pic we got on our cruise that I might post once I get it in electronic format. We've been together almost 6 years, so we were already commonlaw anyway. This just made it official. She's a good girl, and a really hard worker. She's actually a waitress, and has been at the same restaurant for 12 years. That's pretty rare in the restaurant biz, and she really loves her job. She also painted the house by herself, and likes mowing the lawn and doing the gardening thing. She really made our house into a home. She loves my daughter as her own, and spoils all our animals (2 dogs, 3 cats). Really low maintenance, not a mall freak. Hates shopping! She's supportive of me playing music, and really watches out for me. So yes, it's a good thing.
