We have too many cops.

Studies have shown that people without their front license plate in states that require it are typically also guilty of other crimes against humanity.
So the polce are doing a little "fishing" hoping you'll also be the guy with a dead body and 150 pounds of meth in your trunk while driving drunk in a stolen car with a kidnapped child in the backseat.

Yeah, I was ticketing for this awhile back. New used truck and hadn't gotten around to putting on the front plate.

Tried to get out of it by telling cop it was my 25th wedding anniversary and we were heading out for a four day getaway. Nope.

First ticket in 13 years! Dang. Reduced to $50 - but still :(

I seem to remember ya didn't need a front plate. Must be a 9-11 thing :atoz:

Too many damn cops. Agreed. I saw a man cuffed, spread eagle and completely searched for...yep you guessed it J WALKING! not kidding. guy walked across the street, one cop pulled into the parking lot he walked into. Another cop pulls up within 5 minutes and they hassle the f*ck out of this man.

One of the most flagrant displays of pig feces I've ever seen.

That story is sickening to me. I sure hope that the budget crisis here in Calf will finally get this place to finally start laying off cops opposed to always hiring more.

What post? I'm to lazy to search.

Post #146 in this thread. It goes like this....

Get the front plate attached and quit whining.

This.

Gotta love OT. 9 pages of illogical and sometimes heated back and forth where one simple sentence, offered on page 1, would solve the entire problem but was summarily rejected by the person whose "problem" it is. Home sweet home. :D

The plate is due to get attached. I've got a ticket for it, I don't want it compounding and getting ugly. That was never really my point though.

My point is about law enforcement's increase in attention to minor infractions. I haven't actually been written up for a moving violation in years but I notice I've been pulled over a lot more for minor violations: license plate light burned out, "failure to signal," no front plate, etc.

Busting a high speed u-turn and throwing on the overheads to let me know I've got a headlight out is borderline silly, but at least I appreciate the public safety aspect of it. The front plate thing just seems like a prime example of excessive enforcement.

I'm glad all the eagle scouts in this thread appreciate the important role that cops are playing in protecting the world from the ravages of insufficient placarding. I still think it's chicken****.

Why not front plate photo-radars? No front plate, and it snaps a picture of your car's rear plate, sends in the bill, and no additional cop is needed. You still get your chicken**** ticket for doing something illegal, and the appropriate number of officers can focus on people more important than you.

I keed, I keed :D
