Web Fulla Weird: Oddball Basses found online

The Torzal "natural twist" bass from Little Guitar Works is a bit of oddball I love to play one.

And aView attachment 1040370 guitar - cause I just couldn't resist....

That gumball machine guitar was built by Pennsylvania luthier Rich Roland, owner of NEO Musical Instruments.
Rich also built this custom NEO fish bass for me.
It sports an acrylic hollow body, composite neck, EMG electronics, Gotoh hardware and real neon internal lighting. He builds amazing instruments.

And one more NEO guitar, the Chameleon Greenback.

I love how Bass Lutherie is so free and creative.
To me it seems to surpass guitars for the potential for both beauty and whackiness.

Please add images to this thread that showcase the oddballs - the weird, the beautiful, the ugly - but that have some essence of "X" factor to them....

Here's a few I've found....View attachment 1040363 View attachment 1040364 View attachment 1040369 View attachment 1040368 View attachment 1040367 View attachment 1040366 View attachment 1040365

Does anyone know who builds this bass?

Hate to zombie this thread, but if anyone has a clue who made this one I'd love to hear what you know. My search-fu only turns up Pinterest dead ends.
Might be that Russian luthier, will look up...

It's Padalka I'm thinking of. Not sure, but looks like his work: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

Thanks! I absolutely agree it looks like something in his style. The thing is, of the few fretless basses I've found of his, I don't see any of them executed with that bridge design, he rarely seems to use contrasting wood knobs, and using only a piezo pickup seems even rarer. So if it's his, outside of the shape I'm inclined to think it's a real departure from what he normally builds. I should probably ask *him*, though...
