This is a limited model produced by Ikebe Bass Station to celebrate their 10th anniversary.

I'm confused. This is a short scale, four string bass, typically tuned E A D G. Why would you call it a B bass? There is no B. I'd give it an F, maybe a D minus, but it'd have to repeat the course.

It was the sloppy clank I was objecting to. Not my cuppa as far as overall tone goes either. But to your point, that's more a matter of personal taste, so I have nothing to say about that other than it's not me.

And yet the watermark in the first picture says "Ikebe Music since 1975". Does this mean these Bad Boys were made in 1985, and 33 years later they still haven't sold any?

It's the Bass Station 10th anniversary. Bass Station is a subsidiary of Ikebe.

I think the marketing is intended for Japan, so it's a bit difficult to say it's a catastrophe. Since this is a limited run, I am sure they will sell out like all Ikebe limited run items do.

Haha, I kind of dig it. I'm a fan of traditional sounding basses in unique shapes.

I like it. When someone compliments you on your "guitar playing," you can make them really feel like a dolt with that bass. "Hey, can't you tell I'm playing a bass? If I was playing a guitar, it would be in the shape of a G, you ultra-maroon!"
