Hello! I have a Trace Elliot GP12X (model with crossover) and several cabs. I also have a pair of old Hughes&Kettner 3ways PA cabs (15", 8" and tweeter). They sound good and are big enough to work well with bass.
I played thru these cabs a few times but last time I wired them in biamp just for fun and found out they sound "better": better lows and don't seem to be any quieter than in "stereo"?!
The whole thing doesn't make sense: they have crossovers so when I biamp I should use something like the 15" on one and the mid/tweeter on the other one... this should make the whole thing much quieter. And why the lows get better? I can't find an explaination.
Any idea?
