weird, but I'm looking for inefficiency

I know you've tried talking me down many times, but ya know... its a problem I have lol. My home rig is for play and experimentation... one day I'll probably load it with the proper drivers, but I'm looking at cheap workarounds for now...
I think that you just discovered that it doesn't work to be cheap and wrong.
If you are doing it wrong, you will pay more to correct the issue. You ignored solid advice and bought the wrong drivers to install in this cabinet, and got poor results as predicted. Now you are trying to bail yourself out of this predicament but it's going to cost you. Your money would have been better spent on the proper speakers to begin with.

Experimentation is all well and good under the following conditions:
  1. You have knowledge and the skills to determine what works and what doesn't, and a fundamental understanding of what can be changed with an assumption of expected results. Or,
  2. You have disposable income that you can frivolously toss at anything you like and not be concerned with the consequences.
I know that sounds harsh, but I'm hoping you don't go down too many rabbit holes.

Gotcha. Honestly, I'm a firm believer in the "learn by doing" mentality. Lord knows I've done enough of that myself!

So now you know a little more about how to interpret and understand the different speaker parameters, right?

Have you spent any time playing with speaker modeling software?

I've done a lot since the initial purchase of the drivers... like I said, I built a 2x12 that's fantastic. Different drivers, of course. I think its funny how many people came here to be condescending...lol "Oh you learned your lesson, now...ha ha" yeah, I learned it a long time ago... this cab has been sitting for a year in my bedroom lol...I'm just looking for something to do with it on the cheap

absolutely... and glad to say that the hands-on learning has taught me much more than any article on the web or video could...
