weird plastic-ish coating coming off some Elixir round-wounds

I like 'm! Tone stays the same for months! And I like the tone. Besides they do indeed feel very smooth on the fingertips. They are pricy but last at least twice as long as others. The wear doesn't bother me at all. I can see it, but I don't feel it.
