Weird things my dad used to say.

:D

my little brother was clever! He studied IT!:roflmao:

A noble choice:

The OP is pretty funny and seems like a dig at The Wife or some other family member.

A lot of these are just common-hokey old-timer-isms.

My dad definitely has a handful of them on standby.

One which he said a few dozen times that has proved to be weird (in that I'm certain that none of my friends dads would've ever once said it) to the point of being arcane was when he got his first rwd vehicle since he'd taken his 442 off of daily duty: a new '96 GMC Yukon Sport. For the first two or three years, on tar & stone roads or just snowy/slushy conditions he'd shout "REAR WHEEL STEERING!" and stomp on the gas and we'd slide around like we were in The General Lee somewhere deep in Hazard County.

Good times.

I suppose the last new car before the Yukon, a Subaru Loyale, would very likely have been a high spec RX-7 or Prelude if not for my sister and I coming along, and him living up in snow country and work requiring a lot of travel on unplowed roads.
