Weirdest (and most awesome) Bass designs

Here is an interesting design feature on my 1969 Bartell Hohner chambered body bass (predecessor to the black widow). See that screw just below the bridge pickup? That is a neck angle adjustment screw. The neck has a lower tier that extends inside the body to that adjustment screw. The neck pivots on two screws.

Not exactly a battle ax, but I think is it a unique design feature.

One of my favorites is an old Kawai bass made in the 60s. There was a thread about one here posted a few months ago for an eBay sale. Unfortunately I didn't save a pic of it...

Pretty cool, but unless the hi-gain dish antenna is made for use as a thumbrest I think it'd be in the way.
