That is a full rosewood neck with rosewood fret board cap. These were offered on all bass and guitar models (except six string Bongo) for orders between 11/17/08 - 12/17/08. It was a $300 up charge to the base price and it took about three months until delivery. If you missed ordering one of those don't despair, Music Man is doing another round of Dargie Delight models with color shifting olive green/caramel apple paint and ebony fret boards which will be very cool also. Go to the the Music Man forum in the next couple of weeks to see details on these.

I just don't dig the Dargies...

I like the inlays and I'm fine with the colour and everything but... just seems too much like a mainstream custom.
I don't know, I'm weird.

Hi All

Thanks for the input.

I would agree that the clear plastic is close but no bananas. But having the screws shiny about are also kinda "Frankie".

You know - much of the guitar paint is automotive paint. I had a BC Rico IronBird that candy apple red was THE SAME as a friends Vette. If we could match that up we could at least paint the screw heads. Any ideas how to start?

it is quite awesome. I'm still playing it with the factory nickels on, and look forward to putting some real strings on it. I'm kind of digging he old school fluffiness of the nickels right now, been a long time since I've used them, but they are tonally so restricted I don't think I'll like them long. I always find they just sound like really old used steels; you can get the sound of nickels out of SS if you tweek a bit, but you certainly can't get the stainless steel sound out of nickels.

Just my opinion, which I'm entitled to...

Love the bass - the guitar player in one of my bands hates it, which I also love. Fender traditionalist...:rollno:

If they'd make a Big Al 6 with 24 frets, I'd be in.
