Hi there....would like to become a member. My baby is a 4HH Sapphire Black Bongo. She's sitting here beside me in my office asking me to stroke her.

I changed her strings last week and made a few "naked" pics...

Question for the Bongoistas here on TB:

I've been hunting for a more slappable 5 string for a while, and the few Bongo 5's I've played at GC felt pretty good...

Can the BongoHive tell me if there have been design changes over the limited number of years that the Bongo has been made - and is there anything I should be looking for? I'd be looking for a HS (The HH feels awkward when slapping)...

Also, if anyone has an idea of what a decent used price would be, that'd help

thanks!

Just FYI, the distance between the end of the fingerboard and the edge of the neck pickup is the same on both HH and HS models. :)

Well, I've played both an HH and an HS, and found slapping the HS to be just fine - but the HH front p'up got in my way. I guess I tend to pluck in the middle space where the fat part of the front H sits..

I was looking at a sky blue Bongo 6 on the bass central site, and thought it would look cool with a white guard and white pickups. Sort of the opposite of a Stealth i suppose :)

Anyone else think white pickups on the Bongos would be a cool option? Like some Rays simply look better because the pickups are white, I think white pickups as an option would be great.
