Very tough to find one in the new retail channel, unless at specialty stores like Bass Central, ThePerfectBass, Dubaldos, etc. And even then, the stealths are rare. Best place for used is EBMM Forum, second would be TB classifieds.

Your best bet would be to order one. There is normally a 3 month waiting period (at least there was when i looked into it a few weeks ago). they do come up for sale used on this forum rather regularly. I think there was a stealth 4hh for sale just a few days ago actually in the buy/sell/trade section here.

Are Bongos the same approximate weight as the Stingrays? I would love to audition one, but I prefer sub 9 lb basses.

My fretted Bongo weighs 10 lb, 5.7 oz., Nick. BTW, one of the reasons why the Bongo body is made from basswood (a light weight wood) is because the electronics package inside the Bongo is heavy.

A Bongo is still on my "must have it" list... haven't ventured out and played one in a shop in 3 years... but I still remember it... it was wonderful... lol... just either need to win the lottery or come up with another "reason" to tell the SO that justifies me getting another bass (she wasn't too happy with the newest one... brings me up to 3 basses 2 electric guitars and an acoustic... I hope someone will side with me that 6 isn't enough)

Thanks for the info guys. I would love to own a Bongo, but for me, 10 lbs is a bit too heavy.

Actually, a Bongo 4 is around 8.5 lbs. Adding a piezo bridge adds a lot more weight. The Bongo 5 is around 9.5 lbs. It's rare to see one at 10 lbs. I haven't yet. The Bongo 6 is a different story altogether and is usually around 11 lbs. So I'd say you're pretty safe to get whatever Bongo 4 your heart desires and if you prefer a 5, don't get piezo.
