+1 exactly. I even can dig the overall shape of the headstock, but the logo makes it look like a kid's toy. However the rest of it looks great! Congrats to the builder for having a full plate, and keeping his schedule under control!

If you get to hold a Browne in your hands you'll never dare to think of it as furniture, and if you ever get to play one, a kid's toy is the last thing that will cross your mind .
No, I don't work for the man but I am blessed to own and play quite a few really nice basses, a Browne amongst them.
But I understand the unique looks are not everybody's cup of tea, that's why there are so many Fender style basses around (and I love mine too).
Ain't it great there are so many basses to choose from!?!?

I was going to say that bass has a very deep Carl Thompson influence. I think it's great that builders are willing to come out and build instruments that are NOT influenced by Fender (Sadowsky) and MM (Lakland). Imagine what music would be like if everybody was still trying to copy Muddy Waters? It's time to evolve.

You know, the more I play my Browne, the more I respect and dig the fact that Mike is doing his own thing. I had a nice Eshenbaugh for a while, and the headstock on that bass looked either like a can opener or a Lobster Claw. But, the more I looked at it, I really dug the fact that it wasn't another typical Fodera/Elrick/Hanewinkle look. Nothing wrong with that, but it has its own thing going on.

As far as describing the headstock as looking "Flinstone-like", I don't see it. After you play one, you'll get it. It really is that good of an instrument. Mike builds them right, and after the HUNDREDS of custom basses I've owned, I can definitely say that Mike's basses are truly in their own class in terms of tone, and especially playability.

Yes, I am a recovering bass whore. But, Mike's basses are my therapy!

Revisiting the earlier pics, I have to recant that I love all of it. I now find the violin headstock shape and the logo font a bit odd but that's just an aesthetic opinion.
They look to be stunning instruments though!
