There was some talk about the headstock either in the SX megathread or the SX Club thread...e mail Kurt if the answer is not already there...I too do not care for the "Fishhook" headstock in the picture and much prefer the SX headstock shape all 3 of mine have...

That headstock being the "regular" SX headstock would make me really have to reconsider buying the Squier VM Jazz.....I still am not to keen on the ashtrays myself, but then they come off easily.....

Yeah...it's 3/4" difference of wood away from being a regular Fender headstock. I mean, really....does it make that much of a bad impression?

Yeah, those AC 'stocks are not pretty. The fishhook-styled SX headstock is really not appetizing either.

I think the SX headstock above is fine, however.

Ya I know. But for me it is not about the money so much. I like the radius of Fender's fingerboard better, though I do not own one. I also like the pickups in the VM so I want to get one.

But like I said, this bass is really making me think about getting the SX over the Squier.....plus the ash body is absolutely fabulous.

And I can always change what I might not like.....the beauty of an SX, wallet friendly entry price!

That is EXACTLY what I was thinking...

I bet Kurt got tired of all of the questions about the OLD STYLE fishhook headstock...that particular item probably had an old picture, but what he has is the new style headstock...again this is just a guess...
