Well, this sucks..

+1 The unfortunate sideline of adversity is the fact that concious or not, it will induce a level of narcissism, you may not see it, but outwardly it will show. Jus' saying.

I don't see how I've rejected any advice here and I apologize if it seems that I have. I just want to be clear on things from my perspective. That's all I can do. Reality is based on perspective and I'm just saying things how I see them.

And as for being Narcissistic, .. well, meh. I'm not perfect. Lol. I have my faults as you all have yours. I AM getting help with some of my issues and I now have a new place to stay soooo.. things are getting better slowly, but surely.
Again, I apologize if the way I say things is a bit off-putting or seems argumentative. Neither are my intentions.

Thanks for the advice that HAS been given, though.

All I'm saying is, and don't take this the wrong way please, for me, as much as I'd like to apportion blame for my 'things', I actually did a lot of that myself, quite unknowingly, but it was 'me' at the time. Two sides dear, you have to see them, know that I'm on your side, but I'm just saying ;)

I apologise for you thinking you have to apologise :)

Lol. No offense taken and I wholeheartedly agree with you. I've made my own decisions and it is, at least in part, my fault that I'm where I am today. All I can say is that I try really hard to make good decisions, but I guess I suck at it. Haha.
I just have to keep moving on. :)

I suppose I misunderstood. It seemed you ruled out help from a psychiatrist (too expensive), church (not religious), men (boob-centric), women with worse boobs (jealous), women with better boobs (jealous?) and friends (everyone hates you). That didn't leave many options.

I'm glad you're getting help. I'm on your side as well. And your boobs.:)

Lol. Well, now you see my dilemma! I'm just saying, I'm not going to suddenly pretend to be religious, and eventually I can go to a psychiatrist, just not right now. I can't help that I don't have the funds right now. I TRY to make friends with other women, and really everyone in general and I don't know what else I can do, but people really do tend to hate me. Lol. Oh, and I'm certainly not jealous of anyone else's boobs. Mine are the one part about me that I am completely content with. :D Actually, I wish I could find some ladies with better ones.. *ahem* for.. healing purposes, of course. ;)

I will keep trying to make friends with people and I will definitely go to a psychiatrist when I DO have the money, but as of right now you can see the predicament I'm in and why I've come here to vent from time to time.

I don't have a lot of people to talk to. It seems like the people in my life are too busy with themselves to really care what's going on with me, and they have a right to and I'm not going to try to impose on anyone. I don't want to lose the friends or associates I DO have.

I still agree that I have myself to blame for this, at least in part, but I didn't ask for the bad things that happened to me that made my head all messed up and I certainly am not responsible for that. I'm trying every single day to do better and to make more friends and be more sociable but it's a slow process and it makes it especially difficult when I have such a busy life.

Things will get better, it's just going to take time and the right people. :)

Hey, I don't think I've ever posted in one of your threads Mikaela, but I just wanted to add onto this.

You claim that you make attempts to make friends, but your attempts always end up with the other person hating you. I believe everyone (especially a single mom) needs a support system. (Whether they be friends or professionals.) Friends offer incredible and priceless support during hardship and are free (granted, for as long as the support goes both ways). Do you ever ask yourself why people do not like you (and illness is NOT an excuse, as there are all levels of psycho out there and I am friends with a few. You also seem like you can hold your own in an online community.) or asked someone why they think people do not like you. You must detach yourself from their responses as only you will benefit from their honesty. Once you have come to terms with the reasons, you must be willing to work on them. I believe you can make friends, but you will need to want it enough to make the changes. Everyone needs a little help here and then.

Not all women relate to other women very well. I'm one of those, too. Not too many girlfriends to talk about stuff with - they don't really get me and I don't really get them. Big gap. (it's not always about boobs) And sometimes talking things over with guy friends just isn't the same, or they get other ideas. (usually about boobs) Doesn't always work so well. So that really leaves a lot of feeling isolated. Haven't quite figured out what to do about that yet, either. Luckily, I am religious, so I talk to God a lot. Not a lot of immediate feedback though. Or I talk to my dogs. Same situation. Wish I had an answer for you here, but, you're not alone in that respect.

As for bringing it on yourself? Well, you never know how your choices are going to turn out in the end. They might seem like good, rational choices at the time and then just go majorly wrong afterward. There's not always any way to know at the time. Hindsight, on the other hand is usually 20/20, but what good does that do? You really just have to make the best of what happens and keep moving forward. Sounds to me like you're trying you're best to do that with the options you have.

Keep bugging GC till they give you a job, don't sell the bass, don't give up on yourself (or your daughter), and vent here if you need to. That's your good advice from a (hack, gag) older (cough, choke) woman who doesn't have a hang up about boobs.

Well hello Heist,
I don't believe you have, either. I don't know how to say this, so.. I'll put it this way.. Have you seen my very first threads here? That's me. That's how I am on the inside. No one here liked me then, either and I can't blame them.

On one hand I have people saying I worry too much about what others think and shouldn't try to make everyone happy, and on the other I have people saying I should try to change to make other people happy.
I don't know what the right thing to do here is, and while I DO try to look at WHY people don't like me, people usually don't even give me a chance to know me. Not everyone is as understanding as the people here and when I have to make split second decisions (unlike here where I can think about something and re-type it a billion times) I tend to be very awkward. Also, I twitch and make weird gestures and in general people tend to just talk to me like I'm a child or they just avoid me. While I understand what you're saying, I honestly do NOT stop thinking about why people don't like me and why people don't want to hang out with me and I can't figure it out other than the fact that I'm very weird and awkward.

Plus, I never kept in touch with my friends from high school or whatever and as an adult it seems very hard, to me, to make friends. As an adult when I walk up to a stranger somewhere and introduce myself and start talking, people just tend to just look at me like I'm crazy or they just fain that they're paying attention while just waiting to talk about themselves and not really relating to anything I've said.

I'm sure that I'm hard to understand and I tend to speak in broken sentences and mumble and all of that, and that IS my fault, but I'm trying to do better in social groups.

I also have a hard time trusting people because of what I've gone through and all of the people who've hurt me. I'm trying to work on that, too.

I have asked people why they don't like me, and generally they just walk away from me or tell me because I'm crazy. While I applaud you on your ability to see through people's craziness and see who they really are, not everyone is like that and certainly not people around here, imo.

All I can do is try and hope for the best and I will continue to do so.
Thanks for the advice. I'll do my best

**edit: Thank you, Rosie for putting things into words better and I sincerely appreciate the advice. :)

You need to meet some girls with better boobs.

I'm starting to think this is the most versatile piece of advice I've ever given. The potential applications are virtually unlimited. I think it will become my go to recommendation. Look for it in a thread near you.

"I'm sad."
You need to meet some girls with better boobs.

"I'm mad."
You need to meet some girls with better boobs.

"My woofer farts when I crank my Johnson."
You need to meet some girls with better boobs.

This is entirely way too intelligent and well-thought out for this thread. So I will simply respond with boobs.

Yeah, I was here when you arrived. Please don't mistake "changing yourself" as a negative thing. You be yourself, but make yourself available for friendship and make changes to KEEP those relationships. There is WAY too many awkward and weird people in the world for you to not find people that you can relate to and talk on to on equal grounds.

And never ever associate making friends to "making other people happy". They are entirely different. One of them may make you someone's doormat and end up hurting you because you did not garner their respect.

Friends will get you through just about everything (babysitting? crashing on their couch? A good laugh here and there? Networking for new jobs?). Life is too hard to do it alone. Hoping for the best is leaving it up to chance. You are a mom, and moms are strong. You need to take matters into your own hands. I don't like seeing you just sweeping this aside with another reply and excuse/reasoning/ohitwillneverwork. A lot of us believe you can do better than your situation, but that rests entirely on YOU to better it. I'm not typing this just to receive a "thanks for your words but no thanks it can't apply to me".

Best wishes.

Here is what you do, I saw this on Ruby last week.....gather all your friends and family in a room and pass them all a sheet of paper and pencil. Tell them to write down one or two sentences of something they would like to say to you but are afraid to. Collect all the papers and let everyone leave without reading any of them. Sit down with a counselor or your most trusted friend and review what people wrote. Do not read them yourself, have the other person read them to you.

This should give you an idea how these folks feel about you, and I suspect it isn't nearly as bad as you think. If it is that bad, then you can formulate a plan to improve on your deficiencies.

uh, i can't believe no one has said it yet so,
no pic=no boobs!!
i wouldn't worry about having a lot of friends;
if you can count the true friends you have on one hand,
you're doin' ok.
personally I can't see surrounding yourself with like minded people on a PTSD forum healthy, but I may be wrong.
i am not the most religous person in the world, but there are some great youth oriented churches out there. these usually have bands that play pop music that can be crossed referenced to HIM.
You gotta have faith! they may also have a rotating line up or "jam" sessions.
surround yourself with positive and not negative
and
keep on keepin' on

Excuse me,Mika says she's proud of her boobs and nobody reminded her the rule "no pics no boobs" ?

It might not be ok to post the pic. in public so you can PM us the pics. Mika.

Edit:I saw your post right after I posted this Cruiser.Brovser was open for hours and didn't refresh it before posting.

You say you expect me to do better and say I'm making up excuses, but all I'm telling you is what I have and haven't done. I've agreed with you, but you continue to argue. I'm not here to make you, or Maki, or anyone else happy. I don't care to be insulted while I'm down and you should be ashamed of yourself for doing so.
I've always thought highly of you, Heist, but now I guess I see who you really are.
I'm sorry I don't have friends and I can't tell you how hard I've tried. To tell me to try harder is just insulting my intelligence and integrity.
You one second say that I need to change to make others happy and the next say that I don't. I guess that way you're right either way, right?
Well, enjoy your high-horse and enjoy knowing the answers to mine and everyone elses problems. I'll keep that in mind next time I'm trying to figure out the universe, but right now you're not helping any or doing me any favors.
I just wanted to vent, and stated why I wanted to and why I chose here, but I suppose there are always going to be people who look down on my for the problems I have and offer no real advice. Only state that they disagree with me and that I'm not trying hard enough.
Next time I post a thread, do me a favor and keep your useless and hurtful opinions to yourself.
