WEM ER15

I found one of these at a local music shop in mint condition with matching 1x15 bass cab which doesn't have the original speaker but is again in mint condition.

I know a little bit about the amp they were made ebtween 1964-1965 and are 15.5w but most of the people I've found talking about them are guitarists and from what I've read this is clearly a bass amp.

So any extra info would be great, I'm going to go try it on saturday and see how it sounds but I'm looking for a decent sounding vintage practice amp and possibly recording.

Also anything I need to watch out for?

Cheers

Thanks very much for the site info; really took me back.
I had an early Watkins Westminster, my friend still has an original Dominator and we all had Copycat echo units, I took the echo on off swich off of mine and put a jack on it and then into a volume pedal so that you could swell the Echo.
The last Watkins I Had was an ER 40.
As a matter of interest 'Matamp' have started producing the Dominator again with the possiblity of the original spec Copycat echo unit.
I did have the pleasure of a phone chat with Charlie Watkins about ten or fifteen years ago, what a nice guy.

Once again thanks.

Tried it today and it sounds amazing so I'll be picking it up in a few weeks once the bass speaker has been replaced as it rattles so should be a good practice amp/recording amp.

Can't wait

Now to find the cash

Was that at Meltham? if so what did you think when you first walked in to the place. let me know when you'r visiting again please, that's always assuming we're talking about the same thing.
