Wet - Dry - Blend

I know perfectly well that there are ways to blend your clean tone with your effected tone via a Boss LS-2, Barge etc.... But it seems to this way can only go from the clean (dry) to blended (Wet+Dry).

Is there anway to use like a volume pedal or something where off would be just your clean tone, on would be completely wet effected tone, and everything in between would be different levels of blend?

u could get an Ernie Ball Pan Pedal and then run out of it a dry signal, then an effected one, then it will move from effected to dirty, Mike Mcready from Pearl Jam uses this technique to blend the clean sound and the TS sound.

Yeah - a 'pan pedal'! ..But then you'd still need a way to mix'em back together again, right?

I betcha McReady uses something more than just the Ernie Ball, because the EB totally kills your tone when used passively as a mixer.

...Unless, if he was just using it as a splitter, and then either bi-amping, or using a submixer at the end of the chain?

I never realized that the Barge VFB-2 doesn't go to 100% wet! But, after reading the description more closely I guess that's right? Sounded to me like that was the OP's main concern. So, Xotic X-blender, Boss LS-2, etc... AFAIK, those two will go from 100% dry to 100% wet, won't they?

Wow, it says it's "fully buffered" AND "true bypass." I guess I know what that means, it just seems odd that it's got a foot in each camp.

I'd like to see an jumpered option inside to select full-time input buffering - even in bypass mode.

I dunno to be honest im gonna go to shop tommorrow and see if i can talk one of the sales peoples into letting screw around with an LS-2
