What’s your last purchase ?

Atelier Z Beta 5 6 control model from Kurosawa Gakki Bass Store in Ochanomizu. My first foray into 5ers. An Xotic J and an Atelier Z M265 Custom (J/MM) were the competition. The relative simplicity and 24 frets of the Beta 5 won the day.

In stead of going for the Alembic- Stanley Clarke signature bass that was on my GAS list, I opted for this stunning VINYL(!), amp head head cover, in matte black~ Fit and finish is amazing, BTW!! 47K bonus points if you can guess what the amp head is.. One clue to start it off- it has NO TUBES~ 00EB65AC-0DA0-4088-ADC1-472D299A7527.jpeg

Beautiful bass… just an FYI , now is a great time to buy Atelier Z’s or any MIJ basses via the various Japanese sites or dealers, as the yen is so weak against the US dollar. I just pulled the trigger on a gorgeous new Beta 5 with all the bells and whistles for about what a new Fender Ultra II Jazz would cost me…

Not a bass, but as an early Christmas present, I bought Studio One Pro 7 and hooked up our Yamaha Clavinova via MIDI. I'm overwhelmed with choices of patches and drums kits! Currently I'm in the process of marking my favorites.
