What album has kept you alive?

Today_Is_The_Day_-_27.jpg

I probably have to thank this man if I'm not into heroin yet. No one has never made me feel so less alone. So deeply understood. All that alienation, all that despair. He truly knows what psychosis is, what self-loathing is. He lived everything firsthand, he's probably been f***d by life harder than me, his distrust and hatred of mankind is so TRUE.
I wish I could be able to express myself with music as deeply as he did. That's what keeps me going. It's a therapy.

So sorry for your loss!!
I saw someone said Suicidal Tendencies, and to that I say "Art of Rebellion"
And while you are listening to that half of the band, cue up some INFECTIOUS GROOVES to go with it.
All 3 albums that I know of are great.
I would also recommend some PANTERA. "Reinventing the Steel" would be good. "Vulgar Display....." also.
How about STYX "Grand Illusion" or "Crystal Ball"?
Some JUDAS PRIEST, the new one is pretty kickin'.
When you put the Bass down for a sec, throw on some "Richard Cheese" and prepare to get a laugh.
Either way, hold on to the great images in your memory, and know that part of the man is always with you.

Talking about life-promoting, listening to this'n now, Turning the Tide: voices for a living planet — great album. Breath of fresh air. Not easy to find any trace of it, today. Beggars belief.

Found this wee snippet, none the less —

*** Better mention, especially for the trigger happy: there's health and environmental content. Steer clear, if this will upset you. Not my intention.

This, a genuine double CD, has saved my life, in some shape or form, over the years since '07, and continues to do so, even today :)

Sorry for your plight. Try going through YouTube and searching out some early '70's soul jazz. There are so many artists to sift through, maybe concentrate on the CTI releases from the Rudy Van Gelder studio in Englewood, New Jersey. The Crusaders are great cheer up music, too. I would steer away from gloom and doom music as you have enough of that in your system already. Seek out light and happy material and the mood will hopefully buoy you above your troubles. Sincerely hopes this helps.

Sorry to hear about your dad. No fun losing family.

When I'm feeling the weight of the world, I like to start out with the track Maggot Brain by Funkadelic. Although the Mike Watt version works as well. Starts slow and sad then just lifts emotionally. After that I Just try to stay on the arc. Searching the shelves could be part of the therapy. I'm reminded of so much music that means so much to me. No't matter the genre. So many good times captured in those dots and grooves.
