What are the deepest bass amps?

my band is a punk band (im also the soundman since ive had training from serious pros and worked as one for a few years). we do a ska type style but more punk (best reference to sound The Clash) i have a good sound for it but i want more of a drum and bass sound.

the mix is fine we found a perfect setting that fits us in all our songs so we ducttaped it all down. its setup for small and medium sized bars. i use flatwounds and they are awesome but my amp just doesnt cut it cus my rig always sounds "cheap" and i just want that record quality lows, ya kno?

Consider biamping to a dedicated sub. You'll need a little of the mids in there to keep from getting lost but you don't have to sound clanky, it's in the balance. Finding a mix that works with your band is great but things will change from room to room. Duct taping it down may work well in some places but not so much in others. Making marks so you don't lose that starting point you spent all that time figuring out is however a good idea.

What are you doing with your kick drum? Just asking because if that and the bass sort of mask each other, adding more bass can make it worse.

get a few pairs BFM tuba 60 sub woofers. anything else is a waste of effort. also get a powerful power amp with a low pass filter that cuts at 125 hz. You'll certainly feel it. maybe you'll make the brown note.

He has training from "serious pros" I'm sure his tone is fine. My suggestion...pick up a pair of 810 cabs, boost around 20 Hz, cut everything else, and roll.

Hard to advise those who already know it all, and that's the sense I'm getting here. First, the topic makes little sense, and the locking down the settings on the board idea is meaningless as soon as you move to another room. I think the best the op can hope for is to accept the advice of the 'actual' pro's on TB, moreso than the 'serious' pro's that taught him sound design. Much to learn- try to be open to it.

I think better deeper cabs and some EQing is the solution. I would avoid rolling off highs and mids too much. Note definition is something I value a lot.

If you want all low end get a line 6 bass pod and use the sub dub amp model.

As an "old Geezer" my 118 Boogie cab does produce great lows, but I use an Orange OBC115 nowadays, and it produces great low end.

Tell you what I used to do when I was really into dub bass, but working on a budget. I had an Ashly BP41 bass pre-amp that had a crossover and separate outputs for high and low cabinets. I would just cut off all the frequencies below whatever felt right and only use the low output into an Ampeg tube head and a 2x15.

My Eden 410XLT's would go DEEEP! Much fatter than any bass rig I have now. Two of those things would just shell it out all night long, and the Eden Eq was really thick as well

A pair of Eden 410XST's (versus XLT's) would produce even more (thunderous) low end.

Im trying to get some serious low end cut out the highs and mids. currently im using hartke and even with the eq set for nothing but bass it still has some high end to it. my cousin uses ampeg and it sounds like crap. Do all amp makers just make amps for pop n slap or is it just me?

Im thinking about using ashdown because of the "deep" button.

I like the Behringer sound including the ultrabass stuff but i need something more durable since we play on stages that remind me of the blues brother movie (stage with chicken wire around it to protect the band from beer bottles).

You want to be taken seriously with a statement like " ampeg sounds like crap"???

Then, you come out with a gem like " I like the Behringer sound "?
