My 2009 Fender Artist Geddy Lee jazz is flawless. I have zero to complain about.

My 2010 Squier Vintage Modified Fretless jazz, not so much..
The fret-line inlays were actually raised in a couple of places (creating fret buzz (on a fretless!)) and had to be sanded down. The bridge was flimsy and cheap (Rogue basses come with a better bridge, seriously), the tuners were garbage (or maybe I'm spoiled by the Geddy), the guitar was in desperate need of a setup, and for some odd reason, it shipped with roundwound strings...

Now, it's got a BadAss Bass II bridge just like the Geddy, a nice set of Fender Lights flatwounds, and I'm in the process of doing something wonderful to the neck. At some point, I'll throw a set of HipShot ultralights on the Geddy and transplant those tuners to the Squier. I'm also crafting a figured maple pickguard with a wenge bass clef inset into it for pure aesthetic purposes, and I plan to rebuild and rewind the pickups, and radius the poles. The electronics in the Squier, as well as the pickups, were really the selling point for me. I was amazed when I picked this axe up in GC and heard what came out of it. Nothing scratchy in the pots, the pups are deep, rich, and full of color, and the controls actually produce a HUGE spectrum of sound.

I can't do much about it, but the intonation on my P is always off on certain frets.
But that's an inherent problem with guitars anyway.

All my basses have their little problems ( mainly set-up related).It will cost me a lot to get all my basses playing and sounding perfect.
When it comes down to it though, its really the person playing the bass that makes the difference.
Take a look at James Jamerson's bass: it was not much better then a railway sleeper with barbed wire wrapped around it as far as playability goes ( so i've heard) . But it sounded amazing!

My Geddy Jazz should complain about me, as I have nothing negative to say about the Geddy. Same goes to my Squier CV P.
My Hofner copy have too many frets.... well, it is a short scale and with 24 frets.... the spacing is too small for my fingers after the 17-18 fret.
My Westone Thunder 1A fretless have no lines on the neck, could be nice to have them.
My Cort PJ bass doesn't have as good neck as the Squier or the Geddy.

In my case, I have a Warwick Pro M Streamer Bass, and the "Just a Nut" is not that good! Now I looked on the Warwick web site and noticed that they have a better one now. I'm thinking about getting one and changing the "Just a Nut!"

Elias AP-1

Flaws - none.

There aren't very many out there, but if you ever get a chance to buy one one, get it. You won't be sorry.

I would disagree...The Elias AP-1 does have one flaw; there aren't enough of them! My best estimate is that at most, less than 100 were made, possibly as few as 70. This is a problem because when my friends keep bugging me to sell mine, I can never find one for sale to get them off my back.

Well, i think we all love our instruments, but there's always certain details that bother us, and we never liked!

The neck on mine is one of the thinnest I've ever played, I love the small frets, and the Just-A-Nut should be a requirement on every bass produced. You sure you have a German Warwick???

Lotus Steinberger style:
No volume nob.
Had a problem with the pickups (A string always came through at half volume), but replaced with EMGs.
Had to carve a battery slot in the back, and did a mediocre job, looks sloppy.

That's about it, I love that it's dinged to all ****.
It's not a perfect guitar, and I most guitars would probably be an upgrade, but I still love the **** out of it.

However it can satisfy my wife sexually when paired with an amp and cabinet with sufficient power and low end response.

Hahahahah Yeah too bad more bassists couldn't own one.
I think the number is between 100 - 200. I have seen some serial #s higher than 100. Mine is #99.

Honestly, the way I feel right now, the flaws are neither bass is short scale and both heels are about 1/2 inch too wide.....

SR300 - phat boost is unreliable. and annoying. pickups are super weak without it. It's getting DiMarzio'd

SR505 - neck is still a little too thick for my liking. i was a jackson/ibanez guitarist before i really picked up a bass. and the rotosounds i put on it. that was my own mistake.
