I've always referred to bass "chords" as "chord tones". Since the bass is tuned to such a low frequency, if you play the chord notes (or tones) simultaneously (as you would on a 6-string conventional guitar) they tend to sound "muddy" on the bass.
Interesting idea about the "daily triads"! Sounds like an effective exercise.
