What are you GASsing for?

I have the single Alter Ego and it is a great delay, I think you'll enjoy the Alter ego X4.

I want a Phil Jones Double Four as a practice/portable amp, and maybe for playing away from electricity. Being able to run it off an external laptop battery is pretty nice (external power supply makes this possible).

I want some sort of distortion, probably a Darkglass B3k or an EBS Sheehan. And I want The Drop or a Bass Whammy. I have a MS-100BT so I don't really need a MS-60B unless I decide I will spend more than $60-$100 on IAP to load the 100BT with bass effects :) Hell, I should spend $2 on the Bass Metal Zone just to get my feet wet if anything before dropping $200+ on a distortion pedal...

And I want a spruce ubass so I can practice when I travel or go camping.

Just discovered the Empress Heavy. Oh my I want one of those now. I don't even remotely need one, but that's unimportant. GAS is not rational.

I gush over everything that Electrical Guitar Company makes. But this bass right here...

I have never lusted after an instrument more than I have this one. But maybe slightly smaller gauge on the strings cause those are a bit... excessive.

The Heavy is pretty awesome. I use it more on guitar but it's cool either way. Doesn't need a blend if you crank up the "weight" knob.

A boost. Probably the Bajo Mos. But now that Ive seen that DigiTech is releasing an FET boost again. Yeah, I may have some GAS for that. Thats about it though. I'll have eternal GAS for a VMTD. But thats a LONG way off for me. Long way off. Im anxious to see what DigiTech will be bringing us this year :) :hyper:

I have to change my answer. I'm hankering for a chambered Warmoth short scale Jazz with the Gibson style frets, mahogany/koa. I may see about refretting my Hwy One with them since they're supposedly more comfortable for folks who mostly play fretless.

Awesome enough that I caved and purchased one yesterday. It's hard to say no to something THAT flexible. And I love being able to switch between different distortions on the same pedal.

Having purchased that, my new "cannot stop adding it to cart and then removing it" item is the Carl Martin Octa-Switch II. I'm gonna end up buying one; I'm just trying not to be quite as impulsive about it. I'm so terrible at the pedal dance, and I could be all but done with it if I had one of these.

Hey Greg,

I know Juan Alderete has talked about his use of the DOD Bi-Fet a couple times in his videos. Not sure if you've seen any. Here's one:
I'm pretty sure there's more in depth discussion somewhere.

Awesome, thank you. I haven't seem that one. He so many and trying to search them on YouTube sucks for whatever reason. I'm going to check this out as soon as I get some wifi goin.

Yes, it can be a tough slog looking for stuff in his videos sometimes. I almost picked up a Bi-Fet during a bout of I-need-a-boost-right? They seem pretty cool. I wonder how the reissues will pan out.

The two best features of that pedal are the noise gate(s) and the weight knob(s). The gate is AMAZING and the weight is a unique knob that more pedals should have. Really allows you to transition this pedal between bass and guitar. Let me know your review! More people on here should be using it.

As an owner of both the Heavy and the Multidrive, which one do you prefer for bass? I can't find any really great bass demos of the Heavey, although there are some great Multidrive ones.

That's actually a great idea for an effect...add the sound of bacon frying in the background. MusicMan is indeed as tasty as bacon, in a completely different way.

It's kind of apples and oranges. The Multidrive is my favorite guitar dirt. There are fun things i can do for bass, but for basic overdrive I use my B7K. The Heavy is an awesome high-gain pedal for either bass or guitar. One way to answer is if I absolutely had to split my board into guitar and bass boards, the Multidrive would go on my guitar board. The Heavy would be an extremely tough call, but I MIGHT put it on my bass board.
