What are you reading Chapter 4

Currently on the second book of the Sword of Truth series. I'm re-reading them as there are several books late in the series that I never got around to reading. I needed the refresher. I killed the first book off in 2 days and am nearly finished with the 2nd after a day and a half. They read very very well.

Faulkner's "Mosquitoes," circa 1927-- an interesting novel based in New Orleans, apparently his second novel. You can see early bursts of greatness in his prose. Certainly less wonderful than the novels to come in the 30's and beyond, but still a better read than most other authors ever achieve. I'm about 2/3's through it and lament that I've pretty much run out of Faulkner to read for first time. Luckily, many of his books are worth a 2nd and 3rd go.
Set outside the Miss. stories, it has very different characters (artists and women attracted to artists), and structure (hour by hour on Lake Pontchartrain); it stands alone outside Faulkner's usual themes.
Took me a couple of tries before I fell into it completely.
recommend,
fnord!

After watching a few YouTube interviews with Kevin Smith talking about his recent heart attack I was taken by how much weight he had lost. He mentioned reading this Penn Jillete book which inspired him to make body changes so I popped over to Amazon.com and bought it for my Kindle. It's been interesting so far after 37 pages. He is an author of the ilk who writes as they talk. It takes a bit of getting used to but I'm down now.
