Two of my three sisters are lefties. I’m married to a lefty.
None of them is in their right mind.
The two guys I worked with in the photography/photo lab business were lefties. Fortunately, they were sympathetic enough to my plight (being a righty) to get me normal scissors to cut film with..............

If it's like most of the other Dennett books I've read, I will pull it back off my shelf in another year and read it again. And then again the following year. And perhaps again a fourth time. And maybe by then I'll have fully wrapped my head around what he's trying to say.

Ha! Sure enough, almost exactly a year to the date, I just re-read that. And now I'm re-reading Dennett's Breaking The Spell. Always rewarding to dig into his work.

Finding my way through the to-be-read books cabinet... This was an impulse purchase spotted on the bookstore shelves more so than anything I would have sought out. It's hit-and-miss, and a pretty good example of how “writing about music is like dancing about architecture.”* A couple of the essayists are pretty far up their own backsides, with one apparently convinced he's much funnier than he actually is. But a couple of the other entries are interesting, and have some things worth thinking about.

Back to re-reading one of my favorites:

His Dirk Gently novels are on my shortlist to re-read soon.

Currently, I’m reading “The Elephant’s Journey” by José Saramago. He’s a pretty eclectic writer. Great stories, but you have to be willing to go deep. Not an easy author to read, but a rewarding one.

EDIT: I used “great” a lot there. Switched it up.

Actively trying to watch less TV and read more lately, so I’ve been busy. In the past two weeks I’ve read The Hobbit, Beowulf, and am currently re-reading The Lord of the Rings (about 250 pages in). Goes to show how much junk TV I “watch”, just to put something on for noise and relaxation - I can’t tell you a single show’s plot I’ve watched lately.
