basstones, how do you like the tape-wounds? I have a set on my Fender 51 P RI and they work fine on it. I have an L2500 on order and am thinking of the LaBellas for it.
For now GHS Boomers on my L-1500, which IMO were a huge improvement over the stock strings. I want to try DR Fat Beams or Lo-Riders, and maybe even some pressurewounds for stronger lows.
By the way, those GHS flats are wonderful on a P-bass for old school tone. GHS calls them "Precision" flats for a reason! I have them on mine now, and can't bear to replace them with rounds, even though rounds would be better for gigs in my current band. Hmm...maybe I need another P-bass.

I like the LaBellas, they are personal favorite with TI a close 2nd. I have used flats on most of my basses and I really like the way the LaBella's play and sound. I would give them a try on L2500, good luck.

pickles turned me onto them and now i am a firm believer:
LaBella Hard Rockin Steels with .128 B string. the string to string balance in tone and feel is amazing. the only other set that i would consider would be TI Flats for the exact same reason.
but if we're talking four string sets, i would go with TI Super Alloys.

Last year switched from DR Sunbeams to the Nickel Lo-Riders. I ordered the NMLH45 (hex core) but the NMLR45 is what arrived. Don't know what the difference would be with the hex core.
These are Medium-Light, 45, 65, 80 and 100.
Using these on both my L2Ks. A fretless and a fretted model.
DR's claim to fame is that they don't eat frets. It will be interesting to see how they do on my fretless.
Lots of punch and great tone on both instruments.

Thsi great disparity of opinions here proves three things:
string choice is really personal
lots of good strings out there these days

DR Sunbeams on my L-2000. Have not tried others, but generally dig Sunbeams for tonal flexibility and that easy-bend feel.
Usually D'Addario XL 165's, but currently Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinkys. The 2 strings are pretty similar so when these die I'm going back to the D'Addarios.
