What are your other obsessions?

Cycling: I was an elite amateur road racer 2+ decades ago in Washington State, plus have also raced cyclocross and mountain bikes. It's what I was probably born to do, meaning I was born with an ability to process a high volume of oxygen. I'm a lifelong alpine skier and fly fisher. When I retire from my tech career within a year or two at most, my plan is to work part time in a local ski/bike shop.

I'm new to bass, which I picked up at the end of the pandemic. It's a fun and rewarding learning curve, though humbling.

protection dog sports.

no dog is happier than a very high-drive dog that gets to do very high-drive things. it's a hoot.

My day (often night) job is being a stage actor. I love words and getting geeky about them. It's also fun to come at performance from a slightly different path than music; you're still crafting the passage of time, but with less drinking and all covers.

Speaking of drinking, I'm also a bartender and enjoy playing with cocktails. I have a few gigs where I get to invent drinks for the menu, and that's always fun.

I also enjoy bikes a lot and take care of a small rental fleet for the theater season here. Wrenching on a bicycle for awhile can be a good way to clear the mind.

Not really an obsession (like bass and bass gear is), but I really enjoy bourbon and rye whiskey, and look for things I haven’t had before, and sharing with friends and family.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention bourbon. As a Kentucky Colonel it's more like a labor of love.:D
