A "days" song is a song that you would gladly give up a certain number of days off the end of your life to never hear again. Getting people to list them is always fun, because people will come up with horrible songs that you had (mercifully) forgotten about, and also you will invariably list a song that someone else thinks is the greatest song ever. List as many as you like, but here's my top 5 along with the number of days I'd be willing to surrender:

#1 Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin - 14 days
#2 Freebird by Lynnard Skynyrd - 12 days
#3 Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue by Toby Keith - 10 days (hell, just put his whole catalog in)
#4 Black Cow by Steely Dan - 7 days
#5 Sweet Home Alabama by Lynyrd Skynyrd - 5 days

Instead of giving up days of my life I'd just turn off the radio or TV. Thankfully I haven't had to listen to a Bieber, Rihanna, Perry, Minaj, or any other similar modern day star maker machinery extruded artist's song yet...because I don't listen to or watch any media source that spits that junk out. And I can take just about any classic rock tune every now and then as long as it's not by Styx, Kansas, Focus, or that phonetic singing European band that had the one big US classic rock hit. Thank God they put an off button on radios and tvs.

That.
I stopped listening to the radio and television (minus my local jazz fusion channel) years ago and never looked back!
Surprisingly when my girlfriend asks me about some chart topper I'm always clueless! I love it!

Giving up days?? Pfft...

But songs I could live very happily without ever hearing again??

1. ANYTHING by Steely Dan or Peter Frampton.

2. Any post 'Pyromania' Def Leppard.

3. Smoke on the Water.....A great song...I know...But I've heard it enough to last two lifetimes.

4. Rock and Roll All Night by KISS......I would blow the Pope on National TV during prime time if it meant that every copy of this song would be destroyed.
