What audio interface are you using?

I have three of the firestudios... They were rock solid for me.

Mine was for years, until it started blinking on and off in rapid fire succession. Not sure what that was, but it became unusable immediately. I made some nice recordings with it over the years, and still use the Presonus AR16 board/interface at work often.

On another note, I discovered that the EVO 16 does have a power switch, and that it’s inside the menu system. Live and learn!

Last, @silky smoove I just ordered some inexpensive clamps and goosenecks for the piano and will be playing with those soon. They are easy to move and I just stuck them in this spot to see how the clamping mechanism works. When the piano is on half stick, they can be moved almost anywhere.

One of the three I have is the mobile. It did that twice to me when daisy chaining with the full units. I reinstalled the firmware each time and it took care of it. Not sure what caused it, but it only happened twice.

I have a Scarlett 2i4 that I like. I bought it used. I'm not too picky or discriminating.

Every now and then I need more inputs for a live recording. I have a Behringer X-Air XR-18 mixer that does double duty as a live mixer or as a computer interface. It can send 16 channels into my Reaper DAW.

I have always been a big Presonus fan. Currently, or should I say, still, using two Firepod / FP10 interfaces. Unfortunately they are Firewire so eventually I'm going to have to replace them. Fortunately I don't *really* need 16 simultaneous inputs so I can probably find something affordable when I upgrade my PC. Will stick with Presonus though I think.

After much consideration, I ordered a Presonus iostation 24c from my local store yesterday. I landed on the Presonus because it seems to have a solid rep at a really affordable price point, I want to use Studio One Artist, and I really dig that the iostation gives you physical controls for the DAW. I'm a tactile person, I think that's one thing that has keep me away from recording in a DAW. The iostation looks like it makes it really easy to do the basics with a quick press of an intuitive button instead of using a mouse cursor on the screen or remembering hotkeys on keyboard.
